Do you remember when you first shaved your legs? How old were you? Did your mom know or care? Or were you like me and just snuck and shaved ’em at 12 after she told you no?
Listen. I’m 38 years old. I’ve been shaving my legs for over two decades and always with a razor. In recent years I started to feel bad about the lil cheapie disposables due to the wastefulness factor, so I bought the type where you just replace the blade.
All the while, I have seen the electric shavers and the wet/dry shavers but never gave them a chance. I got the chance recently to review the Philips SatinShave Wet & Dry Women’s Rechargeable Electric Shaver and was excited to try it out.
Only problem… I was terrified of two things:
- This newfangled contraption is going to rip my skin off
- This electrical doohickey is gunna zap me dead on the spot.
I don’t know if I’ve shared this here lately, but I have a weird irrational fear of electricity. I ask John to plug things in for me. I hate using electric devices in the bathroom because…water. I dunno. It’s weird…I know. But it’s my truth!
So of course when it came time to try this shaver out I was alone in the house and had to use it (wet and dry! *gulp*) all by myself. Did I let that fear stop me? Naaahhh. I figured…who needs their top layers of epidermis anyway? If it messes me up…it’s in the name of beauty! ha!
Luckily it was actually the best thing ever and I’m annoyed I never tried it sooner!
Seriously. Game = Changed.
I tried it on my legs wet and it was a win. No complaints, I didn’t get electrocuted and I still have my top layer of skin. Yay! But I will tell you, that first time I put it to my skin I was so (unnecessarily) shook. I was almost shaking and I’m pretty sure I held my breath. (Don’t be like me.)
Ha!
There’s a lil short comb attachment for trimming your bikini area and another attachment that helps you when you’re shaving curved areas like your underarms.
It gives a nice close shave and quickly, too. No nicks or anything, and no razor bumps or ingrown hairs when they’re growing back in. I think I’m a convert!
If you are like me and have been curious about trying a shaver like this but are a scaredycat. Trust me. You’ve got nothing to worry about! You can find the Philips SatinShave , and be sure to drop a review if you try it out for yourself! The price is already great, but using promo code SATINSHAVER will give you an added 10% off now through 12/31!
