We need a truck. (Well, an SUV)
This is what I am trying to convince my dear husband of… but he’s stuck on getting a new Maxima, since his old Maxima is finally dying the true death. (She lived a long, happy life, served us well, and will soon be going to a better place…may she rest in peace.)
Have you ever seen that commercial where they have the pic of the same guy in front of a car and in front of a truck. All the focus group people say “truck guy” is cool! I’m trying to convince John he needs to be truck guy and not boring old pet bird having car guy! hehe.
I say we need a truck because we’re always having to borrow a family member’s truck to pick things up from Home Depot and Lowes. Also, John and I have been doing weekend yard sale trips and having to pass on cheap (and free) cool items that are too big for our cars to handle.
He says the Maxima is more cost effective…which may be technically true…BUT…
Can you haul oversized yard sale finds home in a maxima? Nope.
Can you fit two huge car seats and diaper bags, and a big ol’ double stroller and other junk in a Maxima?
Well… yes. I guess you can, but then there’s no room for anything else!
I’m shuffling the kids to family members houses all the time, and between the strollers, bags and pack n plays there’s no space in the car left for the kids!
We bought a grill and Lowes had put it together when we went to pick it up…
How are you gunna fit a fully put together grill in a Maxima? He had to go get a truck to get it home.
You’re just not gunna be cool “truck guy” in a sedan. Am I right? lol
I drive a Passat and love it to bits, but I would love to be higher up while on the road. Just makes me feel safer. (whether I actually am or not is beyond me.)
John recently tested out a Subaru Forester and I fell in love. But I’ve also got my eye on the Toyota Highlander and Nissan Murano.
My car is holding up well so I won’t be buying one for myself soon. (But when my car dies the true death — hopefully no time soon, knock on wood! — I’m totally getting a lil truck so I can be “cool truck girl!”)
Seriously, my only hope for a truck right now is to convince John that it’s the way to go for his next car.

You know Darrick and I get along pretty well until its time to buy cars! HA! I have never thought about divorce in our marriage but buying cars… #JesusTakeTheWheel LOL!!! Yeah we got an SUV this time around because we were supposed to have twins and it would take us to 3 car seats at one time, but plans changed and even with two seat, and a stroller…its a lot for a car! Especially if you go to the store for groceries the extra room helps…I love my SUV! We have a Honda Pilot (the true 3rd row sold us) and a Passat. We plan to get rid of the Passat soon because the note is a little high…but again my husband is on those games on what to replace it with so we shall see…LOL!!!
