Nexxus was the very first hair care brand that I ever noticed. What I mean by that is, it was the first brand that I noticed a difference in my hair after using it. Before trying it, I just used whatever my mom bought to use on her hair. After I tried Nexxus Humectress for the first time at my aunt’s house, I was hooked! I loved how easy my hair was to blowdry straight after using that conditioner.
I would save up my little teenage money to buy the huge salon sized tubs and used it religiously back then. This is why I was so excited to try the Nexxus New York Salon Care Line again.
Currently, I’m growing my hair out to donate again, but this time, while color treated. I’ll be updating you here and on youtube monthly so stay tuned. I’m glad to start my grow out journey with a brand that was my hair’s BFF so many years ago.
Therappe shampoo and Humectress conditioner were just as I remembered. They always made me feel so luxurious back in the day. I used the Therappe as suggested, then tried the Humectress. When I rinsed out, my hair (first off, didn’t require much combing at all) felt like butter! If the regular conditioner worked this nicely on my color treated hair I’m extra excited to try the masque!
For the first time I tried Humectress Luxe Lightweight Conditioning Mist and the Encapsulate Serum. The Luxe was a leave-in conditioning spray that made my dry hair feel so soft and easy to style. It was very light weight. My only complaint is that it took so many pumps to get a good amount of product out! The entire line has coconut oil in it, which my hair loves!
I also tried Mousse Plus from their styling collection and am excited to try the dry shampoo this or next week. The mousse had great light hold and smelled wonderful like everything else in the line. I now only use mousse on my wash n gos at times and if I get my hair cornbraided.
NOTE: I usually put on a moisturizer and then a styling aid with some hold for my wash n go curls. With the New York Salon Care line the Luxe Conditioning Mist was my light “moisturizer” and the mousse was my product with hold.
Happy with the results of my braid-out too:

I might have to give this line a try. I read the details online but couldn’t figure out which one I’d need for my dry hair. Love your color and can’t wait to follow your grow our journey. I’ll be silently joining you as I want to see how healthy and long my hair can get.
