I was scarred for life at 13 years old. My mom got me contacts, after I begged and begged. And I accidentally lost one on my second day having them. They were the year-long wear ones back then so I couldn’t just open up another package. I had to go the whole school year in glasses again because my mom wasn’t about to pay out of pocket for another pair of lenses. :: sobs gently ::
Ever since then I hated those annual contacts, but that’s what I wore most of my life! Then, I moved to biweekly replacement lenses and my contact lens wearing anxiety dialed down several notches.
Switching to Daily Lenses
Well, I normally would use weekly replacement lenses, but John and I recently got a chance to try clariti® 1 day contact lenses from CooperVision. And…Listen. I am sold on this 1 day contact thing. Ya hear me?
- My eyes feel like they’re brighter. Which makes me feel like I look younger. (Don’t judge me!)
- It’s easy! I don’t like getting out of bed when I am literally about to fall asleep just to clean my contacts with solution and put them in their case. With 1-day lenses, I simply take them out, go to sleep, and pop in a new pair when I wake up.
- My eyes don’t feel as itchy or dry!
The only issue I had was the first few times I used the lens, I forgot they were clear! My old lenses had a slight tint to them that made them easier to see in the lens case.
John will like them more for traveling because he is about that carry-on life. He will just packs as many pairs as he will need for his business trip, and then he doesn’t have to pack his cases, or bottles of solution. #easybutton
He can also keep a pair in his desk at work as a just in case. This is a lot less bulky than keeping a case and solution, etc. in his office.
Our eye health is super important to us because on both sides of our families we have eye issues. Did I ever tell you the story of John going blind in one eye for a while!? #scary. His mom has an eye disease as well. On my side, my mom and I have super strong prescriptions, and Rohan, our son, seems to take after us.
So, he’ll be getting clariti® 1 day contact lenses as soon as he’s old enough. But Kaya, she seems to take after my father whose eyes are still perfect at age 61. #lucky
Try clariti® 1 day contact lenses
The clariti® 1 day contact lenses have silicone hydrogel which makes the lenses highly oxygen permeable. That just means more oxygen gets through to my eyes compared to standard hydrogel lenses and helps keep them healthy. They are also UV blocking**, and keep my eyes feeling moisturized.
If you are a 2-week contact lens wearer, you may want to visit your eye doctor and get fitted for the clariti® 1 day contact lenses. Even if you wear another daily lens for convenience factors, you might just like this one better for the benefits listed above. And before you even ask – yes, the price is right!
My doctor (Dr. Nodland in Palm Beach County) highly recommends them and I know I can count on him to recommend what’s best for my eye health, versus what’s good for my pocketbook or personal preference. Luckily, the clariti® 1 day contact lenses from CooperVision are good for all three!
Have you tried daily lenses yet?
**Warning: UV-absorbing contact lenses are not substitutes for protective UV-absorbing eyewear, such as UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses, because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding area. Patients should continue to use UV-absorbing eyewear as directed.
