Dreadmill
I got back to the gym after being nervous because of my dizzy spells and falling and whatnot. I was a scaredy cat, but since I’ve been having waaaaay shorter dizzy spells, and none at all yesterday (or today so far lol) I’m glad I went. I’ve gotten back to the dreadmill and am getting my run on again! I have a love hate relationship with that thing!

My favorite way to make the dreadmill more bearable is to vary the speed often with intervals, and have good music playing. I need serious bass blasting in my ears to help me forget any pain and focus on the beat. Bonus is when the beat and my steps match up. I listen to dancehall, dance, hip hop, and some punk(?) when running. What songs do you like to run or work out to? I need to update my running playlist.

Soup
Food-wise I’ve been OK, I’ve been eating more meat than I should be if I were to stick to the Eat To Live plan I told you guys about HERE but overall I’m eating healthier.
I’ve been halfway living on my homemade miso soup that’s delicious, nutritious and light/filling at the same time.
Here’s the “recipe” (I use that term lightly because I don’t measure or time anything):
Ingredients: water, red miso paste, tofu, mushrooms, baby spinach, pepper sauce, salt n pepper
(that’s the base, but sometimes add green onions, bell pepper, or whatever leftover veggie is in the fridge that needs to be used up)
- put water in a pot with miso paste (to taste) and let simmer, add pepper sauce
- chop up mushrooms and cube the tofu and add to pot (add whatever other veggies too)
- bring to boil, then back to simmer for a while
- add baby spinach at the very end just so it wilts down and that’s it, pop it outta there
- eat and enjoy
This is the cheap n fast version. If you want to increase flavor, just sautee mushrooms and tofu in miso paste in a pan with some chilli oil before adding to the broth. I only do that when I’m feeling fancy. I like the cheap and fast version better. I make a big ol pot and eat it throughout the day alongside breakfast lunch and dinner.

I really love miso soup. My favorite thing to do is put seaweed in it. What is the brand of red miso paste that you use?
As for workouts, when I did go to the gym and run, I used to listen to dance a lot and Britney Spears-don’t ask. But I agree with you, nice base can make you forget about everything. These days, it’s just me and my Wii.

You and I have the same workout music tastes! I love dancehall, hip hop, reggaeton and pop. I got a couple of country songs and metal from time to time, but its mostly the first four. Another way to beat boredom at the gym is just to try different machines. Some days I do the dreadmill, others I’ll try the stair master or the elliptical. On the treadmill, you can even switch between walking on a steep incline (endurance training) or running on a lower incline for cardio. Switching it up at the gym and the music are my two weapons for fighting boredom at the gym!

Oh yes! I do the steep incline for a booty burn. I hate the elliptical though. It’s to constricting. The stairmaster I will do at random. But I love(hate) running the best so I end up on the dreadmill. I can’t wait for warm weather so I’ll be comfy running outside again. So free! Any songs you’d suggest for my running playlist?

I’ve been trying to get better with my eating but I kinda suck at it. Working out isn’t hard for me at all.
