This Sandals Montego Bay review was originally shared on OKDani July 2018. Resharing today just because I wish I was on vacation right now.…
Thank you to Sandals for hosting John and I as media for this amazing trip.
John and I are just back from 8 days in paradise. Most of our stay was at the perfection known as Sandals Montego Bay Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Many thanks to Sandals for hosting us as media for this stay. It was incredible. Check out our coverage on Instagram @thedanifaust.
Before this trip, I was introduced to the Sandals family of properties via my time at Beaches Moms in Negril 2016. There I learned about the Sandals Foundation and the Sandals/Beaches brand at large and was really impressed with their dedication to their guests.
Nothing would prepare me for my time at the Sandals Montego Bay, though. Now, my mom is Jamaican and I spent most of my time growing up with my Jamaican side of the family, so when I hear the accent, I immediately feel at home. It helps that the entire staff at Sandals MoBay is friendly and fun, too. Hard not to feel at home with the positive vibe of the crew there, no matter where you’re from.
The resort is perfect for active couples like us, or those who just want some chilled out romance and luxury.
Dive Deep Every Day
Daily dives are included at this truly all-inclusive resort. If you’re a certified diver you recognize the value in that right away. Two daily 1-tank tives can be taken each day and it’s included in your stay. The operation is top notch, too. The equipment is up to date and well kept. The Sandals dive team is serious about safety, and very knowledgeable of the area, the life under water and made me feel comfortable right away. We loved the daily dives and were happily surprised that it was included.
Work Up A Sweat
The gym at Sandals Montego Bay is bananas. It’s very spacious, has more equipment than you’ll ever need and the air conditioner is working overtime in there. You’ll have space to stretch out and do your own thing without lookyloos staring at you. So far this is the best resort gym I’ve seen. It’s right near the Red Lane Spa so you can go sit in a sauna or jacuzzi afterward.
Hit the Water
If you want to paddleboard, swim, snorkel, dive, float… they got your back. We made as much use of the watersports as possible. Diving and snorkeling were our favorites though. The whole watersports team is great!
Balancing out all the activity is the ever-present relaxed, chilled down but somehow still romantic vibe. I guess having no children around automatically chills a place out, though. The resort was primed for romance, too.
Cuddle Up With Your Love
This is the snuggliest resort! We met a gang of honeymooners and anniversary celebrators every where we turned. Everyone was snuggled up in the various nooks, crannies and cozy spots this resort had scattered throughout. On the beach were these perfect round loungers that shade you from the sun and allow you to just gaze out at the water until you doze off. One of my favorite places to relax.
Zen Out in Your Room
When I tell you our room was perfect….OK so we did a video walk-thru. You can check it out on my IGTV @thedanifaust. The king bed was comfortable, the ocean view was perfection, and the large soaking tub on the patio was a relaxing place to end the day. The bathroom was expansive, and the shower alone could fit like 12 people in it. We should’ve thrown a party in tthere. The color scheme and airiness made it feel very beachy yet zen and romantic all at once.
Savor Romantic Meals
Outside of the food being delicious at every restaurant, and the service being perfection as well, the meals were also very romantic. Sometimes at all inclusive resort restaurants it feels like a cafeteria despite luxe furnishings. That was not the case at the Bayside restaurant or any other onsite. The a la carte restaurants were all tasty and the vibe was one of romance and relaxation versus party and entertainment. (Check IG for photos outside the Asian restaurant)
The resort and staff get an A+++
John and I agreed that this trip to Sandals Montego Bay was the best resort vacation we’ve taken. And we have been to many all-inclusive resorts throughout the Caribbean and Mexico. We have been talking about going back when 2020 rolls around for our 10th wedding anniversary or in 2021 for our 20 year anniversary of being together. Second to this would be Beaches Negril with the kids. The Sandals crew really have this all-inclusive thing dialed in.
Have you visited a Sandals yet?
While I was sponsored onsite at Sandals Montego Bay as media, all opinions are my own.
