The title of this post is not a joke. For the past few weeks I have been using a new set of skincare products in a regimen chosen by an app on my phone! (And I’m digging now my skin is looking now!)

Let me explain.

I have a very simple skincare routine.

Wash, vitamin c, lotion. Done. Recently, I took the #28DaysofOlay study and it changed a bit! It starts with using the Olay Skin Advisor tool. It’s a program for use on smartphones and tablets where you take a photo of your bare face and answer a quiz and you get your resulting skincare product regimen.

The way I said that really simplified the process, but it was so thorough. You can try the tool here. You answer a few personal questions including your age, and you upload a clear, close up makeup free, glasses/hat free, photo of yourself into the Skin Advisor Tool. The tool analyzes everything it can on your face from crows feet, smile lines, discoloration, texture issues, pores, pimples, etc. Then, it tells you your age judging by your skin.

The tool thought I was much younger, so…

The Advisor asks about your problem areas, skin types, biggest skin issues, level of moisture…it goes deep!

Some of the questions ask you about your current skin care routine, so that when it’s time for your “prescribed” combo, it isn’t too far out of the realm of what you’re comfortable with. I entered my short and sweet regimen, and the Skin Advisor gave me two products to try for the 28 days:

1. Cleanser – Olay Luminous Brightening Cream Cleanser
2. Cream – Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream

I will be honest and say I hadn’t heard of either so I was excited to try them. When I went to Walmart to buy them I was shocked to see the whole range of Olay products I didn’t know about. I guess I’ve been under a rock because Olay has been making moves!

They really want to help women fight skin imperfections and the signs of aging! 🙂

I have been using the cleanser and cream for about 3 weeks and I’ll update you on my results soon. The cream feels great going on. I had to get used to my face not feeling squeaky clean from the cleanser because it’s so moisturizing, it’s probably way better for my skin this way, too.

I love modern technology! I would’ve never guessed that I would use an app to dictate the right products for my skin!
